First CVBC Tournament of 2012
Apr 18, 2012
The first CVBC scheduled tournament for Dorena Lake was cancelled due to poor conditions. Our first event was held last weekend at Green Peter. The tournament yielded 4 boats, and 9 fish brought to the scales. The lake was producing a lot of undersized fish that did not meet the 12 inch minimum. Rob Beck and partner Eric O'Leary won the event with a 5 bass limit of small mouth weighing 4.7lbs. Second place and big fish went to Josh Marthaller and guest partner Shane Dohman. They had 2 bass weighing 3.56lbs and a largemouth big fish weighing 2.29lbs. Full results can be seen here: 2012 Green Peter. The open will be in 2 weeks and will give the lake some time to warm up for better fishing. Congrats to CVBC member Larry Cross for taking first place in the ABA Green Peter just the day before our club tournament.

Don't forget we are hosting the:
2012 Green Peter Open on Saturday April 28th.

Tournament Format Change for CVBC Club Events
Mar 7, 2012
CVBC has changed the fishing format for the 2012 fishing season. Previously each angler in a boat was fishing for their own 5 fish limit. In an effort to promote a more team friendly environment and help newer anglers out, each boat is now fishing for a combined 5 fish limit in each tournament. The AOY points structure will remain as it is with a boater and non-boater category, but the anglers who fished together for a given day now earn the same points for their respective boater/non-boater designations.

With this being said, a couple of checks were put in place to be sure AOY points are still awarded to anglers who peformed throughout the year. The first being 2 of the 8 points tournaments of the year anglers will fish for their own 5 fish limit and will be awarded AOY points accordingly. Secondly, the 2 tournaments where individual performance determines AOY points can not be used for "throw out" tournaments in calculating points.
2012 tournaments for individual points will be:
Newberg May 26, and Newberg Sep 9.
